The stunning twin peaks of Mount Wugarri (Sturgeon) and Mount Mud-Dadjug (Abrupt) provide a glorious backdrop for Dunkeld, and inspiration for much of the local artists. Wander through the galleries and museum or be tempted by fine food with a delicious meal at the award-winning Royal Mail Hotel.
If you're feeling fit and energetic, take on a challenging but rewarding walk to the summit of Mount Wugarri (Sturgeon) or Mount Mud-Dadjug (Abrupt) for panoramic views of the surrounding national park and volcanic plains. Both walks take around three hours return, require good levels of fitness and suitable walking attire, and promise camera worthy rewards.
For a shorter walk, try Bainggug (Piccanniny) located between Wugarri and Mud-Dujug. About an hour return from the carpark, with great views.
