As directed by the Chief Health Officer Victoria campsites, caravan parks and camping grounds
will now be closed to visitors. This will be effective from 11.59pm (local time) 25 March 2020.
The only people permitted to remain will be:
• People who already have the caravan park registered as their primary place of residence;
• People staying in caravan parks as interim accommodation where their primary residence
is not available (including those of no fixed address and people placed in emergency
housing by DHHS).
These actions follow further restrictions on domestic and international travel, with all nonessential
travel banned. Compliance with this directive is enforceable under the section 203 of the
Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 and penalties apply.

Ideally located at the foothills of the Grampians National Park, a series of rugged sandstone mountain ranges and forests rich with wildlife and home to significant Aboriginal rock art sites.
The stunning twin peaks of Mount Sturgeon and Mount Abrupt provide a glorious backdrop for Dunkeld, and inspiration for much of the local artists. Wander through the galleries and museum or be tempted by fine food with a delicious meal at the award-winning Royal Mail Hotel.
If you're feeling fit and energetic, take on a challenging but rewarding walk to the summit of Mount Sturgeon or Mount Abrupt for panoramic views of the surrounding national park and volcanic plains. Both walks take around three hours return, require good levels of fitness and suitable walking attire, and promise camera worthy rewards.

The Dunkeld Caravan Park is a community owned Caravan Park, hosting in excess to 3500 tourists annually, and providing a large economic boost to the township.
